Shield of Separation

Those who have Autism or consider themselves on the spectrum are more comfortable when their boundaries are respected, and they really shine when their individual needs are accommodated. I designed this piece to represent the strength that such individuals can wield when their needs are acknowledged and respected, and to serve as a reminder that we're all fragile behind the shields we put up. I hope that the necklace can be used both as a conversation starter for the wearer to explain what makes them them, and also a signal to remind those nearby that the wearer may prefer more space or quiet.

Printed in brass, copper, and rhodium-plated brass. Stainless steel chain included
